Crystal skulls have always been objects of mystery and spirituality. The actual ancient skulls, from areas such as Tibet and Mexico, were carved over 1500 years ago and some, such as the Mexican skull Sha Na Ra, have been examined by scientists and found to have no visible tool marks whatsoever.

Although the ancient skulls are carved of quartz, contemporary skulls can of course be carved from all kinds of crystals. You may find yourself drawn to a particular skull because you are drawn to work with that particular crystal. That was the case with Aetis, who is extremely rare in that he is carved from larimar, which is rare in itself, only being found in caves of Dominican Republic.
When you hold different crystal skulls you will feel that they each have different energies. As guardian to a family of eleven (at present) crystal skulls, I am familiar with their varying energies as well as their immense collective power. If you feel called to finding one of your own, listen to your intuition about the type of crystal and the particular skull. Make sure you purchase from a reputable seller as well.
